Honeymoon Trail Winery is nestled along the Historic Honeymoon Trail (Route 104) and the Niagara Escarpment, just minutes from Niagara Falls and Lake Ontario. Originally built in 1970 as Niagara Winery—and after a brief chapter as a gun stock store in the 1990s—the building was thoughtfully restored as a winery in 2005 by Garry and Lori Hoover.

Garry believed great wine should reflect both place and people. With a focus on New York State fruit and a hands-on approach to winemaking, he crafted award-winning wines that were approachable, memorable, and meant to be enjoyed to the very last drop. Following Garry’s passing, Lori continued the winery with dedication, preserving its character and commitment to the land.

In 2026, Honeymoon Trail Winery entered a new chapter under the stewardship of Justin Ortel and Courtney Strozewski, who now lead the winery’s day-to-day operations. Justin brings more than 17 years of experience in the New York wine industry, while Courtney brings a deep passion for hospitality and guest experience. Together, they are seen as a natural fit to guide Honeymoon Trail forward honoring its roots while thoughtfully revitalizing the winery for the future.
